7-A-SIDE NETBALL

About Us

Ely netball club started in 2003 and has seen many keen netball players attend over the years.  We run training sessions every Wednesday at the outdoor courts at the Kings' school in Ely from 19.30 until 21.00.  Training sessions are often taken by a coach where we will work on specific drills and training, normally followed by some match play to work on implementing what we’ve just learnt. Each member takes the session at their own pace and although we encourage everyone to get involved where they can, everyone is welcome to sit out on something if they need to.

We currently have 3 teams that compete in the Cambridge and District Netball League which is recognised by England Netball.  At the moment 2 of our teams are in Division 4, and 1 of our teams competes in Division 5.  Matches are played on a Saturday at Netherhall School.  Once you are a member, and if you would like to take part in the CDNL league, an affiliation fee paid directly to England Netball allows you to take part.

We also recently submitted one team into the Fenland League where we are currently playing in Division 1 (of 2).  This team is a different weekly mix of players from throughout the club and is a great way for us all to get to know one another.  Matches are played on a Thursday evening at St Ivo Academy.

Here are the rules to 7-a-side netball if you need to familiarise yourself with them before coming along to a training session:
